To Whom It May Concern: April 11, 2008

A glimpse into a mother/wife’s three year long difficult medical journey, a battle still fighting and now reaching out to the community for your help.   I’m speaking out in desperation for help for my family.   As a wife and mother I have been there to care for my family.   In May of 2005 I had to have brain surgery.   Without success I have been in the hospital from May 2005 until October 2007.   Undergoing six brain surgeries, seven stomach shunt surgeries, cardiac arrest, kidney dialysis, months on life support, and three years of a spinal fungal infection, you can only imagine the mental strain and financial hardship this has now caused our family.   I have a fight to survive, an undeniable belief in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and a strong will to accomplish a way out financially on my own for my family.   However, at this point the only way to get past this is to reach out to my community for help.   While some in my circumstances may choose to file bankruptcy it is my desire to get all medical debt paid off without that option.

I have been happily married for ten years; have a very smart young eight year old daughter, and an adorable ornery five year old son.   My happy loving family has and will continue accumulating a sizable debt after three consecutive years in the hospital and multiple surgeries, other surgeries yet to face.   To help alleviate worrisome medical expenses and to allow me to focus on my fight for a healthy life as a young wife/mother, I have come to the point of desperation.

Blessed that I am now able to breathe on my own without a breathing tube I’m still yet faced with another surgery and many years to struggle for strength.

I am writing to you today in hopes of raising money to help my family.   Putting aside the embarrassment of asking for donations has been extremely difficult for me, however, pride aside I have come to the point of needing my communities help.

Once a Sunday school teacher at North Parkersburg Baptist Church, a homeroom mother each year at Neale Elementary School, a dedicated wife, and a loving, caring homemaker of two young children was the blessed life I once had.   Days today have left me disabled only able to read my children books from a lying flat position on our living room couch.

Currently the condition leaving me lying flat for relief from pain is a disease called Arachnoiditis.   Knowing I feel blessed God brought me back from cardiac arrest I still need to reach out to my community and ask for help.   In the future I pray to once again get out there and pay forward what help my family has already received and for the help I am asking of you today.

My husband and I would like to thank you in advance for your wonderful monetary gift.   Your generosity and support will bring great comfort to my happy loving family during this trying and very difficult time.

Saying "thank you" seems so small compared to the way you have come together to show me and my family such kindness.   I will forever be thankful for the peace and growing faith that has changed my life forever.   It's a comfort to know my Christian brothers and sisters have come together to pray for a marvelous miracle on my behalf.   I'm overwhelmed by the love I have felt during this painful journey.

My heart has always known my husband to be my soul mate.   During this hardship I have leaned a lot upon Tom.   He continues to be committed to me and his faith has been restored.   No matter how much pain and agony I have felt just knowing God's big plan to grow stronger in his faith has made it all worth it for me.

You have given me such a gift.   My heart has been touched by the generosity of my family, friends, and even strangers I have never met.

Kind deeds have a beautiful way of showing us that the world is still made up of good people with great souls.   No matter what life brings it's a joy to know I'm surrounded by earthly angels - YOU!

Love and Prayers,
Jennifer
