The Story of Jen
Jennifer Denise Allen is many things to a great number of people.   A loving wife to her husband, Tom, a devoted mother of two beautiful children, ages 6 and 3, a faithful daughter and sister, and an inspirational friend to many.
Early in 2005, at age 30, she was diagnosed with a rare structural condition affecting the cerebellum called Arnold Chiari (pronounced kee-ar-ee) Malformation.   Following a delicate surgery in May of 2005, Jennifer has suffered from ongoing infections which have kept her in the hospital through much of the last 10 months.   She underwent 11 additional surgeries during that time.   On March 4, 2006, she went into cardiac arrest while in the hospital receiving treatment for infections.   Her heart was only functioning at only 10-15%.   A breathing tube is pumping oxygen into her lungs to help her breath.   She has begun kidney dialysis, but is currently awake and in minimal pain.   Her husband had been traveling back and forth between the hospital and home to see their children, who are unable to go with him every day.   Jennifer and Tom are beloved by many people from every aspect of their life.   It is the hope of those many people that many more will come together and make a world of difference for a well-deserving family.
